TLF SHARE Collective was awarded a plaque in grateful recognition of its contributions to the work of the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) at the First PNAC HIV Summit held on September 8 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.

The organization's founding members are part of the legacy outreach and education work of The Library Foundation, the first MSM-focused HIV and AIDS community-based organization in Manila. They have represented the GBMTs as a key population in the Council, and have contributed in the work of PNAC from before and through the enactment of the country's laws on HIV and AIDS, i.e. Republic Act (RA) 8504 in 1998, and its replacement, RA 11166 in 2018.

Trustee and founding member Glenn Cruz received the plaque on behalf of the organization from health secretary and PNAC chair Ted Herbosa, health undersecretary Francine Laxamana, and executive director-in-charge Jojo Feliciano.

Messages of solidarity were delivered by Equality Champ Awards recipients Atty Kaka Bag-ao and Senator Risa Hontiveros during the Summit's program. In the 17th Congress, our Equality Champs were likewise co-authors and champions for the passage of the strengthened national policy on HIV and AIDS.

In his address at the Summit's program, the PNAC chair acknowledged that the country's HIV epidemic has shifted further towards younger key populations at high risk for HIV infection.

In the early 2000s, under the former The Library Foundation, some of TLF Share's founding members worked with PNAC for pilot projects on peer-based HIV prevention among young MSMs in schools and communities. Before the passage of RA 11166, TLF Share was also able to establish the first national MSM-TG network on HIV and AIDS with the assistance of the PNAC Secretariat.
